In the attached saved game for a Free Orion v0.4.3 game running on WinXP SP3, I'm unable to colonize Naos II. Naos II is a huge tundra planet and I'm colonizing using a ship loaded with species George that favors type tundra. The [Colonize (3.0 / 25)] button appears, I click on it and it changes to [Cancel Colonization]. On the next turn the planet should be colonized but instead the [Colonize (3.0 / 25)] button is back!
I've answered you in detail on the forums, but the short answer is your detection strength doesn't let you spot the native species hidden there, it's fixed in the most recent test versions and therefore in the next official release to make it more obvious, research neutron scanner and you'll see the Furthest hidden there.
Thanks for the quick reply. After I research the reutron scanner and can detect them, then I should be able to invade them right?

#551Correct, yes, you'll need troop ships, I'm fairly sure but not certain it'll be Furthest, in which case they normally have 12 defense so 7 troop pods'll do it.
