No

When we add some shares on b3,
Samba seems to be stopped.

We must restart freenas to retrieve normal use of samba

    Hello,

this is a normal behavior. If you press the 'Apply' button the script '/etc/rc.d/samba restart' is executed. Due this Samba will be stopped for a moment.

Please describe exactly what you are doing, this will help me to reproduce your scenario.

    Regards
    Volker

Maybe related to this (if not, maybe I should make a new bug report): http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=2267036&forum_id=507590

Basically, in the latest nightly build 0.69b4 I can make Samba shares, but my Vista machine doesn't see the shares. FreeNAS works (FTP, SSH) but no way I can map a drive, Vista doesn't want to connect (tried the tricks too).

Looks like a Samba issue to me (another user reported problems with XP and Mac client as well, going back to latest stable worked fine).

Hi, please give the latest 0.69b4 revision >= 3850 a try, it includes misc samba improvements and bug fixes.

    You can download it here:
    https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=151951&package_id=229704

If the problem still occurs, please describe a exact workflow to let me reproduce the problem. Also re-open this BR.

    Regards
    Volker
