Just installed 1.1.0_Beta2 via snap on Ubuntu 16.04 and also 20.04.
I keep mm files on a separate internal HDD mounted at /media/john/Data.
Full path to files is like this: /media/john/Data/MyDocuments/MindMaps/MASTER.mm
I had 1.0.1 installed on the Ubuntu 16.04 and it has been working fine for years, opening and saving files from the path outlined.
Once I installed the newest version via snap, it refuses to talk to the drive mounted at /media/john/Data.
If I try to drag/drop from there I get a "permission denied" error.
If I try to File -> Open and input the path, same error.
If I right click in a file explorer GUI and click "open with freemind", it will launch freemind, but won't open the target document.
I can move the files to a USB drive, and all open functions work fine in freemind.
I can move the files to /home/MindMaps and all open functions work fine in freemind.
If I try to File -> Open and navigate, the interface cannot "see" a subdirectory /media - or anything below it. That may be a clue.
No other software shows this problem. I can go into file explorer and right click to "open with" and choose e.g. Gedit - and it opens the files immediately. Only freemind seems to have this directory blindness...
My /home does not have enough room for everything I have in the subdirectory tree, as I use freemind heavily - and all my existing backup systems are scripted to the existing path.
Can someone please help me understand what's going on - and how to resolve it?
I would be most grateful. TIA.
I have the same problem on snap Freemind 1.1.0_Beta2 and Ubuntu 22.10. Freemind is crippled and unusable in its current state.
