In my opinion, it's not really an issue out out of date tools--for both John T and me, we had the latest versions available for our OSes. The real issue seems to be that the autoconf prerequisites are too high for no apparent reason (maybe someone with better knowledge of autoconf can confirm). The "HAVE_ERRNO" and "HAVE_ERRNO_H" mess is partially fixed by this patch, but still some code is not compiled on Windows and recent versions of MSVC (nothing major, but there's an unused variable and in a couple of places the older CRT functions are called rather than the secure versions). I'm going to scour through the code and fix those. Regards, Martin |
