Hello listfolk, I've been struggling with this for a few days now. I'm using FOG 0.32, and attempting to capture an image from a VMware Workstation 7 virtual machine.... and it really doesn't seem to be working. Every attempt I've made thus far to capture the image, even through several iterations of the source disk's configuration, snapshots, bus adapter types of both IDE and SCSI, don't seem to be working. The latest incarnation was created by booting up a Windows 7 PE with a blank IDE virtual hard disk (expanding VMDK) that I initialized through disk management, created a partition, marked as active, and then ran "bootsect.exe /nt52 c: /mbr" on the drive. I then used Robocopy to copy the contents of a mounted disk image (one of the SCSI based disks that was also showing up in the image capture as "raw") to this new "virgin" IDE disk, and imaging with FOG yields the same result. While I am able to boot this source machine after it's resized, captured, and then expanded by FOG, any machine imaged with this image fails to boot, citing "Error loading operating system." I'm going to keep working on this to see if there's anything I can do to get it to work, but it's driving me nuts :P Might anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Andrew Bobulsky P.S., the only part of the clone process that seems "off" is a mention of opening "/dev/sr0/" as read only. |
