#10 Won't Delete Extracted Files

I created an SFX that contained a txt file and a 32bit
exe file. I had it extract to $desktop$ (not
automatically), execute the exe file, and delete the
extracted files when the exe was finished. I didn't
add any shortcuts, and used the default icon. When I
executed the SFX, it extracted the files, executed the
exe, but didn't delete the files when the exe
finished. See screenshot. I tried this same scenario
with several exe's, and got the same result.

    Hhmm,

    I haven't tried the GUI version, only the command line
    MakeSFX.exe tool. And I've seen a similar problem.

    I think this might be fixed using a couple of small changes to
    header/src/header.c:ExecCommand().

    1. line 1408: BOOL bNoDelete = FALSE;
    2. line 1549: if (iDeleteFiles && !bNoDelete) ... /* note && ! */

    But I don't have a build environment to try this out.

    Cheers,
    Chris

    I have experienced this problem also. It is the only
    serious problem I have found with FreeExtractor (apart from
    the fact that I get the impression that Mr Fawcett has
    dropped off the face of the planet). Yes, FE could probably
    be improved by having (as one person suggested) some sort of
    uninstall option, and the website might be improved with a
    link to a recomended icon editor or perhaps FE could handle
    more types of icons (including the new, larger XP size) but
    the only real bug (unless I'm being really thick) is this.
