The length of the username for making modem connections is too restrictive. My ISP (a little company named AT&T) has assigned me a user name that's 26 letters long(!). FreeBase 1.0 and earlier does not allow usernames longer than 20 letters (or thereabouts). If I had a copy of Visual Basic, I might be able to fix the situation in short order, but the facts are I don't have a copy and I don't know that it would be straight forward to fix. 'twould be better left to the author.
Please help!
Otherwise, I like FreeBase.
I'll lengthen the field so that it can hold longer usernames. Problem is that I'm now working on 2.0, which will be out soon. Main difference is that I've worked in some new libraries for SNMP and raw-UDP and that I compiled using VB5 instead of VB4. I hope you can hold out for another week...

I have the same problem with a german Telecom T-DSL
connection.

Is there any chance that we can see this one fixed?
Accounts of German ISP T-Online are not possible this way,
if you are using a "Mitbenutzer" account (sub-account)

Has there been any fix for this? I can't use earthlink.

I have the same problem. I have an old Netcom email
address with Earthlink, and my username IS my email
address -- and it's 22 characters long -- I can't enter
the "om" of ".com" at the end. Can this be fixed? Any
workarounds?
