well I was configuring a virgin base using freebase when i think i accidentally unchecked the dhcp by mistake and updated the firmware....now all the lights flash amber and the and the only way to access the airport is to reset it while booting (with paperclip) hard setting the IP with karl then reading the firmware with free base I can access the airport with free base, but with karl i recieve an error "signiture of remote bridge not recognized"...
I am doing all my work from a wired pc due to the fact that my airport is no longer transmitting, or there's something wrong with my lucent gold nic card(i doubt it, but unvarified)
I was using freebase version 1 with firmware 3.62 also
I have a similar problem result caused during changing the IP Address from a wireless win98 client running freebase ver 1.0. (Silver NIC)
Now the Airport will only respond when reset while booting. I am Connected via wired port, sellect configure the base station, set IP & I get the setup menu's. Then change IP address & DHCP off and Update Basestation. It then writes the setup and reboots the basestation. after reboot the Airport comes back with a steady amber on the centre Power LED. No sign of life to the wireless client as well.
