btw, this whole ticket started from a command line request by mercurial (hg) for a password, when I already had ssh keys in place, and so wanted to check my keys were still present, but the site returned an Oh snap.

it's working at the moment, we'll see at 3-5am (eastern) tomorrow ;-) That's why I'm curious if there's some sort of maintenance going on where ssh is not working,
