Once again, the Download Latest link is wrong, and I cannot find anyway to fix it. There is no support tool for fixing this when it goes wrong. This has happened before.
It is currently pointing at an old binary, two versions ago, that is over a 18 months old. The files are time stamped, so I would expect that it could figure out for itself that it is not pointing at the latest.
Anyone who actually uses that button, will get an old version of DoomLegacy, and probably will not realize it. From the logs, there are enough people downloading that old version to be concerned.
I just released a new version of the project, and this button did not update itself.
How do I fix the Download latest button ???
Hello,
Our download button assigns the latest version based on the current device you are using.
We also offer a way to force a specific version to be downloaded.
It looks like your project has it set up to do that. You will need to disable the "default" checkmark on the 1.48.14 version and that should take care of it.
Go to the project files located here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/doomlegacy/files/1.48.14/
You can find the file you want to set as default and click on the information icon to the right.
Check the OS boxes where it says "Default download for" as needed.
Click Save.
If the description is unclear, I've included an attachment.

Thank you for your prompt reply. Now that I have found the button, I have managed to fix that.
I do NOT expect to be able to remember that is a file control button, 12 months from now, when the next release will happen. That "i" does not look like a button that controls anything. It looks like part of the file download statistics information.
I had spent an hour poking every odd button that I could find, and never realized that the "i" was even a possibility. Even the Badges, for a while, looked promising. After all, the DOWNLOAD button is a button of the FILES tab, and should have a control with all the other buttons that control the file tab downloads. It is not part of the download statistics.
Here is a suggestion.
There ought to be a BLUE BOX, like the others, to control this.
Create a "Default" blue box button after Git Hub integration.
Within that page, have a button "Remove all default download assignments", which is the button that you need when you make a new release.
After that put the statement, "To assign default downloads, go to the individual file and press the 'i' button."
That will solve the problem, and at least gives people a chance to figure it out in less than a hour of searching.
Annoying comment. Our project has 5 different binary downloads, so it has a common file for the data. This saves us from having to include that in every one of the binary files.
This is the situation with many projects.
The default download button ought to download both a binary and the data file (or files).
We have a continual problem with Windows users who expect everything to happen for them auto-magically and who do not download the data file and then complain. Reading the README is also not part of their lifestyle.
Hello,
Thank you for sharing your feedback and suggestions.
We really appreciate your input.
I'll make sure to pass these along to the engineering team for consideration.
Sincerely,
