Is my home directory missing or are programmer's intentionally not given home directories? I am finding that some commands from the shell interface seem to fail due to the lack of the home directory:
Here is an example:
-bash-4.2$ lynx ./readme.html
/home/users/c/co/coryholl/: No such directory
-bash-4.2$ echo $HOME
/home/users/c/co/coryholl
-bash-4.2$ cd $HOME
-bash: cd: /home/users/c/co/coryholl: No such file or directory
Thanks for any clarification you can provide me.
