the same code written in the Windows-1252 character set is displayed sometimes in one way, sometimes in another and this on the same page (see character 0xE9 in the example below)

I am not talking about a bug in the software in question but rather a bug in the sourceforge web server which presents text coming from a file correctly when read and incorrectly with diff option

Thank you for your feedback.
I have escalated this to the Engineering team to investigate further.
In the mean time, if its possible, you could use utf-8 unicode, instead of windows-1252.
That should work better.
