Hi there, quite a few files in the projects/spirallinux/files/staging/ folder are not getting mirrored. My workflow is to upload the new ISOs, then test them, and then eventually release them, so there is not an influx of downloads initially and apparently they don't get pushed out to the mirror network. Could you please make these ones propagate? Thanks.

    Hello,

Our mirror strategy is based on popularity.
Files that are frequently accessed and downloaded are stored on more mirrors to ensure speedy and reliable delivery to users. However, less popular files are stored on fewer mirrors or only on our main server.

    Sincerely,

Hi, thanks for the reply. I understand how it works in theory, but that is why I opened this ticket, because in the mentioned directory some files with almost no downloads have been mirrored, whereas others that have had many downloads have no mirrors. It appears that the window for being judged as "popular" closed after they were uploaded to a staging folder, and now that the release is live there are still no mirrors. Please note that the directory name has been changed to reflect the final release version: projects/spirallinux/files/12.231120/

    Hello,

The download count is tracked by filename.
Most likely some files got their download count reset by the rename.
It is also possible that the mirroring logic handled some files before the rename and some after the rename, so got inconsistent download counts.

Our mirroring logic runs daily and should add & remove files from mirrors as appropriate to download trends.

But don't worry, even if a file is only on our primary mirror it should be ok, downloads will work just fine.

    Sincerely,
    SourceForge Support

    Hi, thanks for the reply.
The problem that I described was happening before I renamed the folder.
The files on the primary mirror are many orders of magnitude slower to download from the mirrors, so I would appreciate it if you could look into this and manually force mirror propagation on all the files in the mentioned directory.
    Thanks.

    Hello,

We have set all mirrors to pull the files as requested.
We can see some of the files had already being propagated by our mirroring logic.
