No

Since 10/06/2019, I can't receive messages from SourceForge mailing lists anymore on my @freesbee.fr address. This domain (like many other ones) is managed by the Free.fr company.

I finally found the cause of this problem. This is the IP address of lists.sourceforge.net.
https://postmaster.free.fr/showipstate.pl?ip=216.105.38.7&lang=en

Is my IP blocked ?
IP 216.105.38.7 is blacklisted for 62850s (too many errors (unexisting recipients, broken connections), testing)

Detailed information about the Free.fr mail servers is available there:
https://postmaster.free.fr/index_en.html

Servers are supposed to be unblacklisted after 24 hours, unless they are blacklisted again. As the problem persists after more than 10 days, there is obviously something wrong.

It is specially said:

If you are one of the server admins and if the issue has been solved or if you need additionnal informations, you may send an email to postmaster@proxad.net including our servers error message, your server IP and, of course, your request.

Please do whatever is possible to solve this issue, so Free.fr users can again use SourceForge mailing lists.

    Hello,

We have a variety of complex and strict spam filters, if you can use an alternate email address you should not have any issues.

    Sincerely,

    SourceForge Support

  • Vincent Rivière

Sure. But Free.fr does not complain about spam. Their reasons for blacklisting you are "unexisting recipients, broken connections" when receiving e-mails. So the problem is elsewhere.
You could just try to ask them to whitelist lists.sourceforge.net.

    Hello,

This is an issue wit the free.fr servers it's not a SourceForge issue. Your IP address is not being blocked.

    Sincerely,

    SourceForge Support

It looks like free.fr mail servers have some strict requirements are and are continuing to block our mails even after we fixed a few things.

Note that other mails from SourceForge may not be delivered until the free.fr situation is resolved, hopefully soon, but you may want to use a different email address on your SourceForge account in the mean time.

    Sincerely,

    SourceForge Support

The situation is still the same. I'm regularly unsubscribed from SourceForge. I can subscribe again, even confirm subscribtion by e-mail. But I don't receive the mailing list messages.

The cause of the problem is still listed on the free.fr website:
    https://postmaster.free.fr/showipstate.pl?ip=216.105.38.7&lang=en
"IP 216.105.38.7 is blacklisted for 86277s (too many errors (unexisting recipients, broken connections), testing)"

You may have to investigate those "unexisting recipients" and "broken connections" issues.

    Hello,

I confirm this is a big annoyance. 6 months since I haven't received any mail from SourceForge mailing lists. :-/ The rest of my email works fine!

Thanks in advance to anyone who works towards resolving this problem.

Everything finally unlocked on 01/05/2020! I can receive SourceForge e-mails again.

Free.fr doesn't complain anymore about SourceForge:
    https://postmaster.free.fr/showipstate.pl?ip=216.105.38.7&lang=en
"The IP 216.105.38.7 is not listed."

So solution was just to wait during 11 months.
@SourceForge, did you change anything recently?

Same for me. I can now again receive SF emails on my free.fr adress. That was long! Will it last? Free.fr's postmaster (at proxad.net) never answered my email from February 23, 2020.

    Now, it's mx.sourceforge.net that blocks smtp3-g21.free.fr (212.27.42.3). Great!

This is the mail system at host smtp3-g21.free.fr.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster.

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can

It seems this will never end.

It seems to work both ways today, receiving and sending emails to a mailing-list managed by SourceForge using an @free.fr address and smtp.free.fr for sending. I'm crossing fingers hoping it will last.

  • Vincent Rivière

It still works fine for me, after a few months.
    EDIT Wrong information, see below.

    Hi

I didn't write here since 2020-05-13, but only a few days or weeks after the “good behavior” reported at this date, mails from SourceForge mailing lists stopped arriving at my free.fr address again, and this is still the state today. I'm fed up. I'm not sure if it is due to SourceForge, Free.fr or both. When I have enough time, I consider switching to another ISP.

  • Vincent Rivière

Apologies, indeed I still have trouble (I forgot that I also registered with an alternate e-mail address from another provider).
Cause is still the same: SourceForge is blacklisted by free.fr. See link in first post.
