After seeing some of the amazing work posted on this forum I decided to give it a try as well. I'm looking for some help with designing a logo for http://bow-simulator.org/. It's a physics/engineering software where users can design their own bows and evaluate them by simulating various performance characteristics. I'm going to write down some of my own thoughts and ideas, but feel free to ignore that and suggest something completely different. Any help is appreciated.
It seems like many of them have some blue-ish colour theme. Not sure why exactly, but I think it's a good fit for this kind of software. Looks kinda "rational" and "professional" maybe?

Hello everyone!
The current application icon looks like this: https://gitlab.com/bow-simulator/bow-simulator/raw/develop/resources/icons/logo.png It shows some random graph because... erm... science and stuff :) It's more of a placeholder because I just needed something.
This was the previous icon: https://gitlab.com/bow-simulator/old-nana-version/raw/master/icon.ico It shows the upper half of a bow being drawn out in different stages. It was inspired by this (very old) screenshot: https://a.fsdn.com/con/app/proj/bowsimulationtool/screenshots/equilibrium_states_6.png/max/max/1 This logo actually made some sense because it somehow relates to the software, but my execution was just too poor. So maybe something along the lines of that?
I've also been looking at the logos of various other engineering software. Here are some examples:
SIMPACK, Dassault Systemes, Altair, Autodesk, MATLAB, Code Aster, Adina, ANSYS
It seems like many of them have some blue-ish colour theme. Not sure why exactly, but I think it's a good fit for this kind of software. Looks kinda "rational" and "professional" maybe?
