I repeatedly had the case that the users of my projects do not know/notice at all that there is more than one downloadable file. They only find the big green download button, but don't recognize the "Files" tab. This is really annoying. My suggestion is that next to the big green "Download" button, you add another big colored button "All Files" or something like that. But it must really stand out immediately. If I can somehow configure this myself, I ask for a tip on how to do it. Thank you and a happy new year to you all!
I generally add all related files to one big zip file and mark it as the default download for all operating systems, for my own projects. Hope this helps in your case too.
No, that doesn't help me at all, unfortunately. I am developing ham radio software. For each version, there are at least 6 different sub-versions available, which are only different in terms of GUI or some extra features yes/no. Therefore, it would help a lot, if the users do not only see ONE "Download" button, but another "All files" button which leads to the particlular folder (e.g. "v2.6.2") where one can find the installers for the various sub-versions. Anyway, thanks for sharing your idea. Regards!
Sorry, for the belated reply to your post. Sourceforge support allows single large zip file uploads ( upto 500 MB ) in its web-browser based file upload mechanism and upto 2.8 GB in the rsync method of file uploads.
I was wondering whether the enclosed screenshot below, helps you in organizing everything together in one large zip file, for the benefit of your project users.
