Could you add option to modify tickets by tickets creators.Currently users can edit comments but it seems tickets can be edited only by project members.Users who created those tickets cant edit them.It would be very useful for someone who want to add additional informations to tickets.
I'm just a user, but I think there something kinda 'dangerous' in modifying a ticket after the members began voting. Their vote is based upon the ticket version they read on the very moment they voted.
If you modify the ticket text the voter should have to be warned of the change and the'd have to get the possibility to change their vote, too.
I think the best thing would be to close the ticket with a link to the ticket's new version...
...
...or maybe you should edit your own ticket (the one i'm presently commenting ;) and ask for an edition possibility during the first 10 minutes (just to correct a mispelling error).
So forbid it after votes have been submitted, but come on, at least for a few minutes there has to be the ability to edit a post, I take great before submitting them and still frequently mistakes slip through.
Why do I have to subject every reader of the post to them?
I pressed the bullets button in the toolbar of the editor
So yes, having been able to fix this would have been nice.
Definitely. Or at least delete it! and be able to recreate. Or else, now I am stuck with an unfinished draft that I mitakently posted! https://sourceforge.net/p/scintilla/feature-requests/1229/ .
What should I do now? simply create another one?
Edit: a moderator deleted 1229 for me...

Since this is still an open issue after 8 years, I hereby ask to have this feature implemented - PLEASE
I see no reason that the original author should not be able to edit their tickets, it should be possible to fix typos and clarify a ticket as ones understanding of the issue improves. and thereby add to the quality of f.ex. a bug-report.
As it is now, typos and simple mistakes will be set in stone forever, because otherwise it might get too many votes as the first comment suggest - hmm.
I would certainly prefer to have a precise bug-report and see no joy in reading mine and others typos.
The voting system might be good for something, but seems a little crazy regarding bug-reports
Well now I both wrote this comment and voted for the ticket, lets see if this changes anything
If voting means anything we are 17 people who have voted for it, so this is the feature-request which most people have voted for ;-)
There could be time limit, so you can only do edits within the first year/month/week of the initial post

I am for it with some reservation/s.
First it should ask to (p)review before posting, which would convince user to use preview as that was biggest source of errors/mistakes in tickets I, personally, posted.
Second it would allow to edit ticket for some short time, like 5 minutes, unless no one have responded. If responded it should be clear that that is a reason to refuse edition.
