Fofr users, I'm going to start spending an hour or so a week getting this project moving again. I still use it daily, as I'm sure many of you do, and don't want to see it die. I think the current SVN trunk can be released as 0.4 with just a few things to cleanup. -- Kevin |

I'm wondering how that works and what action has to happen before an item is purged. I know about the setting in which you tell it how many days to keep read items, but not what action actually does the purge routine. -Miles |

I just updated add.php to work now. The problem was it was using the empty category field first instead of the drop-down. Miles, sorry things have been quiet. I've been busy getting ready for 3 presentations next week at Web2.0 and Location Intelligence and also starting up 2 companies. This has taken, and will probably continue to take a lot of my time over the next month or two. The project isn't dead, I, and I believe many others, use FoFRedux every day. However, development has slowed down, and this has been my fault. I've added Kevin as an admin, so he can also add/change tracker items and do releases, but he is very busy as well. In the end, the project is still alive, and used, just moving much slower than any of us would probably like. We'd definitely be interested in some enterprising PHP devs that are willing to pick up the current ticket items and push out bug-fixes if you know any. :) Ticket items will get addressed, just not with any certain timeframe. Sorry about that. Andrew On 4/12/07, Miles Beck <mil...@gm...> wrote: > Can someone respond to this email I sent out a couple weeks ago? I'm > feeling like the project is dead. Can someone respond to this email I sent out a couple weeks ago? I'm feeling like the project is dead. I certainly do not want to spend a lot of time testing/writing up issues if they are not going to be addressed soon. -Miles ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Miles Beck <mil...@gm...> Date: Mar 28, 2007 12:30 PM Subject: Anyone using the release candidate? Do you mean the replacement for panel view from 0.3? Personally, I can't stand frames in any manner, even if you can move them out of the way. If I am understanding this, you would have to click on a link to remove the frames every time you wanted to be in panel view. So you would be clicking it to display and not display as you wanted to check individual feeds. This sounds like it would get really tedious. Could we just have a layout as close to how the panel view look like in 0.3, in 0.4? I really prefer that and for people who do not like the frames view it would be a good alternative. -Miles |

I currently only have test methods implemented, but it's pretty easy to add more. The nice part about the json-rpc part is the javascript client stub functions/methods are auto-generated. Just define a php function on the server, and then use the function in javascript code. -Kevin |

yep, fix works for me. it's about time that i upgrade xampp on my machine... but it was good to get this one fixed, since 5.1.1 was stuck in a xampp release for a long time, so it could have caused a bunch of problems for users. i'm going to take a stab at doing a pda viewer then... here's my plan...even if this stuff only pans out for my own personal use (and i'm not giving any time estimate, since i'm stuck developing 50+ hrs a week at work)... 1 item viewed at a time...with a few commands on the bottom: Mark Read & Next Skip to Next Skip to First i'll do an async fetch for the next item, so the "mark read & next" would actually replace the contents of a <p> and send a hit a web service to mark the item read, while prefetching the next item. I think this should reduce the amount of wait for the reader, and allow us to send only the necessary data down to the device (the feed item) my only hurdle will probably be windows mobile 5.0's version of IE's handling of the ajax stuff. even though all the sdk's at msdn claim that it should work. what's the status on ajax libs? i see we have prototype in the tree, but are we using it yet? i may throw yahoo in there for my purposes, since i know it very very well, and don't want to waste energy learning something new. although, prototype could be attractive if it's simple to do the async calls, since it's probably much lighter weight than the yahoo libs, especially when we don't need the ui extras yet. /evan On 3/5/07, Kevin <ke...@dr...> wrote: > > > > hey guys, > > i've just grabbed the latest from svn, and am trying to install into a > new > > db to do some testing, but i get an error: > > > > > > *Fatal error*: fatal flex scanner internal error--end of buffer missed > in > > * > > <path>\lib\api\rpc_map.php* on line *32 > > > > *what's strange is that line 32 is the last comment in that file, which > is > > being included somewhere from install.php > > I have never seen this before but Google was helpful. well, there are bugs that need to be fixed - so go ahead and report/file them. For 0.4 we'll probably only fix large, functional errors and leave UI bugs to further updates on splitting up the templates that I believe Kevin is doing.
