FlipMessenger / News: Recent posts

The project is hung up due to the problem of the GUI toolkit.
wxPython is a good choice for Python GUI, but it still has some problem especially in CJK font encoding.

So, now I am now considering changing the base GUI toolkit of FlipMessenger to other toolkit such as PyGTK. But the change also has some problem.
First, We need to re-write the code. It's time-consuming.
Second, we'll lose platform-independence because PyGTK is UNIX/X11-oriented toolkit. (though Windows port exists)

I have committed the initial revision of FlipMessenger to the CVS repository, and uploaded a screenshot of it to the project homepage.

* FlipMessenger in the CVS is very unstable, and incomplete. It is not for everyday use.

The initial revision of pymsgs is now on CVS
with simple text-based testing program.
pymsgs is an underlying library module for FlipMessenger. It implements MSN protocol.
