Updated documentation for release in Fltlog-2.02.13C.zip As the manual flightlog .pdf and README and readme. No program changes other than updating the copyright notice for 2024. These changes makes this relase current and the others deleted :)

2.02.12 is being released to provide support to give running totals after each month's figures to provide additional support when looking for errors in the totals, compared to any paper log books. It will also create a very small extra file that will hold the content of the user's name and any other detail entered before producing the report and this can be updated on the next run etc and yes I got bored re-entering such during some testing, when trying to find why the totals did not match a log...

V2.02.00 will be release in the next day or so, just requires updates to the manual which still looks a bit of a mess. Well that wasn't long,update 2.01.34 added to files area. This replaces the older version. Some improvements, mostly bug fixed (#001, 002 that are now closed) Manual improvements with new sections or chapters.

Pleased to announce the first release of the open source version of Flightlog that utilises the facilities of the Free Cobol compiler GnuCOBOL available on SF as gnucobol at : https://sourceforge.net/projects/gnucobol/ Small point, to post on the Forums you must be registered on SF - only takes a minute or two. 2.02.12 Will be issued over the next few days, featuring: 1. Allow running grand totals to be reported after each month when using option D. 2. Record the crew members details for the report, so it can be used or updated the next time. 3. Manual updated for updates.

Bug #005 finds that the airfield analysis of visits is that all reported are even and a quick check shows that the investigated instances are double what the count should be. Code area found but not the fault yet -- still looking. Fixed and tested as v2.02.07 and bug #5 now closed.

2.02.08 has been released and fixes a bug with menu options 3 or 4 when monthly totals are produced junk text from the previous flight remarks can appear if long enough. Manual has been updatd to provide additional information regarding these two hidden menu options in regard to the monthy and start and end of page totals provide a full breakdown of flights where as the flights report line have been reduced to keep on a A4 and Letter format page by only showing times of day, night, IFR, multi etc....

2.02.05C has been released as a zip file along with updated manual. This only updates the manual with some clean ups, changes of detail in menu descriptions, inclusion of hidden menu options 3 & 4 acting similar as C & D but with airfield names printed instead of the ICAO codes. This is for testing to see if users prefer it is way but it causes the page width to be longer and therefore needs the font size specified in prtpdf.sh to be reduced if needed.

Updated flightlog manual

2.02.05B has been released as a zip archive along with updated files in the code repository. This is a very minor update to : prtpdf.sh (as a copy of prtpdf), comp-flightlog.sh to fix an error in the program name being compiled and Changelog to record the later.. This was the result of testing with the latest version of the GnuCobol compiler as at v3.2 dev-0. that was downloaded from the code base today.

2.02.04 has been released as a zip archive. Change includes updated documentation and bug, feature fixes or improvements. This release clears all known bugs and hopefully cleans up the manual..

Bug 004 now marked as won't fix as it is not solvable. Import of a CSV data file that is EBCDIC coded (from a mainframe where the data is held as PDS VB format), will be removed and the manual updated. All data must be in ASCII as normal for a PC type computer.

This issue is not solvable at least if the data is sitting on a PDS VB DataSet. Therefore the feature is now removed. We will not be processing a data file that is EBCDIC encoded. Marked as won't fix. Manual wil be updated, removing feature.

With the release of v02.02.03 Ebcdic coding is present BUT cannot work as coding cannot work out end of each data record. This is because there is no end of record marker in the test data. Therefore taking input a file from a mainframe as EBCDIC cannot work. I will try and tthink of a solution. In the mean while do not use it as it will only take the first entry, so useless. Bug #004.

2.01.44 now available with updated manual, readme, scripts etc. All in the csv code area - I have updated to the files areas as well. More updates? 1. The manual still needs more work. 2. Looking at increasing the Airfield names from 20 to 36 characters. 3. Have made some changes to the txt files of airfields just need to make a decision on creating a master airfield file with the .txt files having created a program to import the txt files.
