Well, any changes we make to Canvas rendering, need to be strict about compatibility: at least to pixel level, ideally even sub-pixel (but sub-pixel might be hard to achieve). Therefore we should really understand any differences, before touching any aircraft, and for sure check the FG-1000, the A320 displays, Henning’s CRJ and have someone check the shuttle. 

If /all/ of those work unchanged, I’d be ’slightly more comfortable’ changing a more obscure aircraft, but even then, would want to understand why something changed.
