This is possible to do right now with no core changes, but I decided to keep the Classic pipeline as it is for backwards compatibility reasons. Unless we find some other way of doing it (like with the method that Fahim posted), rendering to a lower resolution buffer and upscaling it requires a FBO. However, the entire point of the Classic pipeline was to remain fully compatible with how we did things pre-Compositor, so I decided to keep things as they were and just render the near and far cameras directly to the screen. Here is a quick compositor pipeline that should do what you want: https://pastebin.com/GwwfmD4h The pipeline goes into $FG_ROOT/Compositor/Classic/classic-upscaling.xml You can enable it by starting FG with --compositor=Compositor/Classic/classic-upscaling The scaling factor can be changed through /sim/rendering/scaling-factor. Setting it to 0.5 for example will make FG render at half the window resolution. Hope this helps. Fernando |
