An automatic script, that runs over the entire repository, is clearly  
the way to go here. I prototyped such a thing myself, but wasn't  
confident enough in my ability to update the .xml files to point to  
foo/blah/image.png instead of foo/blah/image.rgb - it needs some work  
by someone more familiar with regexps than I claim to be :)
