https://wiki.flightgear.org had an out of date certificate last week. This seems to have been fixed. Is this the url that you were trying to access? Dear Flight Gear Team, I am Arun ,enthusiastic in learning Flight simulators and I like to develop 3D modelling of flight display on my own for Boeing 737-300 . I came across Flight Gear Simulator and have installed Flight 2018.3.5 along with aircraft, scenery database and proceeded with further analysis on Fly simulator screen noticed there is no menu and sub menu to import CSV data file which will be providing an input to Flight Gear Simulator .However, on the home screen there is "select data files location" and "Flight Planning " sub menu ,it navigates to a screen of Aircraft & flight information and load button for "Fly with Flight Plan option" . In both the options not sure whether we can import CSV data file as input to Flight Gear Simulator . Based on the input CSV data file ,3d modelling of Flight display starts on runway, take off to landing by clicking on FLY button. Points to be Noted : 1. Aircraft PFD(Primary flight display) and Engine warning display which should show correctly as per the CSV data input given and the display should be clearly comprehensible in terms of scale, pointers, numerical digital display and any warning lights. 2. Aircraft should respond to the CSV data input of roll angle changes(left&right), pitch angle(up/down) and turns as well. Team kindly check this mail and require your suggestion/guidance to develop this 3D modelling of flight application for Boeing 737-300. Hi Michael, I am the moderator 'bugman' on the forum. If you are IP blocked, then there was a spam bot using your IP to spam the FlightGear forum. Only spam bot IP addresses are ever blocked - and I perform this action about 1-5 times a week. Are you using VPN, TOR, or some other system to mask your IP address when registering? Could you also send your IP address and other relevant information to me in private? Although I do not have the access to unblock IP addresses, I can forward your address in private to Curt and Gijs to unblock it. I can also look at what the spam bot with that IP address was doing and when. Also could you thoroughly check your system for viruses and malware, as there could be a spam bot on your computer that watched you access the forum, posted stuff there, and triggered your blocking. Good afternoon all, I am a totally blind flightsim inthusiast who uses assistive technology(the NVDA screenreader in my case) to make computers accessible. I hadn't thought that flightgear was accessible to those of us who use screenreaders until I came accross some discussion on another list about a wiki page. Looking at that page, it seems to be outdated and doesn't really explain how the accessability works so I'm just wondering if anyone can shed any light on the current state of things with accessability? Thanks for any help, Daniel |

What's "official?" In a user-contributed forum like Flightgear, where they're practically begging one to "help them out," and with no-one really in charged, how can you have "official?" Aircraft can be changed at will, computer code for the simulation itself can be contributed, scenery can be changed, additions or deletions made, even by a savvy user who knows what they're doing. Official? Don't make me laugh. Marisa, Go to your flightgear directory, (I'm not sure where Ubuntu puts it, but on my linux system it is in /usr/share/flightgear/) and then enter /Input directory. Inside there you will find a number of joystick configurations in /Joysticks, each its own manufacturer's directory. So for your Saitek, there is a directory for them containing eighteen different Saitek Js. Good luck! Hope this helps. Hi Alan Thank you for your reply. I have looked at both of the links you sent to me. I am not a computer expert but have tried the one suggesting the command prompt --prop:/environment/params/real-world-weather-fetch=true It does not work for me – but then i am probably typing it in the wrong place. Can you tell me at what point I should type this promp, or do I have to put it into a file/folder in the main programme ? Remember I am a computer idiot so please be precise step by step instructions if you can help me. I hope you can help me as I always like to fly “live weather”. The real weather in the UK can change dramatically over a 150 mile route. Hello I hope someone can help me to configure my flight gear simulator. I am a semi-retired pilot with a full instrument rating. I was introduced to Flight Gear by a friend who said it was very good to maintain IR competency – especially ILS approaches in marginal cat 1 /2 weather conditions. The problem I have is “Live Weather Data” (metar). When I first downloaded flight gear I always received the metars for any airport I entered. But the it suddenly stopped and no matter what I try I can not get the live data back. I am using windows 10, flight gear 2016.2.1, ASUS Nvidia GeForce GTX750 Ti OC 2GB Gddr5 Graphics Card (which I am told is more than adequate to run Flight Gear. I have a continuous high speed internet connection. I have tried uninstall and reinstall but the same thing happens. No Metar available. I have tried to sort out the problem using command prompt. However I am not an IT engineer and do not really know what I am doing. I have tried command prompt “fgfs --prop:/environment/params/real-world-weather-fetch=true” but it just says fgfs not recognised. But then I might be doing it at the wrong time in the programme. I just am at a loss!!!!! PLEASE HELP !! Remember I will need very step by step instructions if you know how to solve my problem. Please send me any information you have to my e-mail direct la...@ao... I do hope someone can sort this for me. MANY THANKS larry |

To train student pilots, you only need the students part of the cockpit, the instructor can do the instruction over the net like we did on the net fly-ins. Hi Arnt, Thanks for the FPV suggestion. I have considered it before but decided against it. The requirement is to build a realistic two-seat ASK21 cockpit with linked flight controls at their correct location and working instrument panels. With the FPV goggles I assume that you won't be able to see what your hands are doing, and I'm certain that the instructor in the back won't be able to see what the student in the front is doing either. These two problems make a head-mount display unsuitable for the club but I might get one for myself at some point as it sounds pretty good for home use.
