Have you check with Thorsten R about this change? I don't know to what degree he still has ownership of the local weather code, or worries about this kind of extension. (For me it seems okay)

Responding to Thorsten's query - there's no conflict at all with my weather addon (well, unless they are used together - I've never tried that). In fact - this one is probably better, because it skips the step of having to parse wgrib files locally using a C# utility.
