AI/Flightplans at present must supply an AMSL altitude for each point while the AI model is on ground. Now that the <alt> tag has been deprecated and all instances must be changed to <crossat> the use of that tag seems even less appropriate for specifying on_ground locations.
\Is it possible for the clause at AIModel/AIFlightPlan.cxx #275 to set the waypoint's
altitude ( or internally 'crossat') to be the ground elevation at that point ? </crossat></alt>
Thanks !
Punting this one to Keith for consideration.
Since this would require a lookup of terrain altitude I'm wary.
Can you please provide a flightplan? And where was the view. There is ground clamping code, but it only works 1000m from the view position.
A moment please, I'll generate a flight plan. I was in the process of updating ticket 2743 to conclude that the yasim segfaults are tripped somewhere around groundcache lookup for gear placement ( the logs make it appear as a scenery error ). Maybe doing more groundcache lookups for scenarios would be less attractive.
Scenario, flightplan and slimmed down command file. This is one of some old scenario files, I think it highlights the issue seen with the glider-towing addon.
