#1977 Segfault on startup during Tip Of The Day

fgfs rebased and rebuilt 1st Jul, 2017. Splash screen quits after a few seconds and program segfaults, backtrace files attached. Seen on a laptop with dual Intel/Nvidia graphics: Fedora 25 x86_64 4.10.17.200 both on today's build and on the previous build maaybe three weeks old. This segfault does not occur on a desktop, Fedora 23, on a build maybe two months old which is recent enough to cycle 'Tip-Of-The-Day'

If, in src/Viewer/splash.cxx # 510 the conditional is changed to : if(0) {
so that tip of the day is disabled then the segfault doesn't happen and fgfs starts.

This segfault maybe the same as reported:
