The need to use Oracle as the db backend is quite
limiting to small business. Support for MySQL or other
Open Source DB's would lead to greater acceptance by
the open source community

completion of the purchase by CHALEX Corp of the intellectual property
rights of FLEXSTOR including FLEX db FLEX si and FLEXdbLink.
CHALEX Corp will offer a variety of licensing options for these and other

CHALEX Corp. recently purchased all intellectual property
rights to FLEX-db. The upcoming FLEX-db 4.0 uses JDO for
database access and will work with any JDBC-compliant
database, including MySQL. The initial release will be
certified on MySQL and Oracle, but we will be certifying
    additoinal databases as well.

We have been working hard on FLEX-db 4.0 for several months
now and plan to release it in Q4 2005. Stay tuned to the
    forums for details.
