I just though up something else for the reason we are using PHP: it's less prone to buffer overflows and is thus more secure. Yeah, that looks about right. Let's hope we can get something usable (if only to demo) out the door by the end of august, that's the goal I'm currently trying to work to. Also, since I'm pretty much the only one who knows how the template system fully works (apart from thalaric who has done some serious experimenting with it), I'll write up a small doc on how to use it; apart from the earlier and somewhat outdated design doc. Whoops, my bad. I'm used to the old mailing list where you can simply hit reply and it gets to the list. Not much new has been implemented on FlexCP because I've been fairly busy also. Regarding webcp.net going down, I did have access to that server at one time but I haven't checked it in over a year. Maybe I'll dig up that info a bit later and see if it's just the DNS that went down. In any case I emailed the web-cp.net guys and asked how they would feel about taking over official maintainership (is that a word) of webcp if it doesn't come back up. I asked if they wanted to put up a webcp forum also. I was worried something like this could happen which is why I decided to move everything over to sourceforge for FlexCP. To really get back to coding flexcp we'll probably have to have another IRC meeting to discuss what each person should be doing. That has worked pretty good in the past. |
