Unfortunately, that one bit me a couple of projects ago and zeroing all the ANSEL-s is the first line of my standard init-word (and called as turnkey).  That one clobbers bit-banging, too if I recall correctly.  Fortunately, I'm not scraping for milliwatts in this one so I've got the INTOSC cranked up to 64Mhz and have to slow down to 400Khz I2c for the digital pots' benefit.

I'll keep playing with it as I get time.  It's most likely just something that simple that I've overlooked.
