Firemonger 2.0.0.1 has now been released, containing Firefox 2.0.0.1 and Thunderbird 1.5.0.9. This version features a number of text enhancements, including changes to the guides, so that they reflect the features of Firefox 2.0. Unfortunately, due to legal reasons, we are no longer including Firetune in Firemonger.Firemonger 2.0.0.1 uses Firefox 2.0 as a base due to launch issues with the newer version as a base. Because of this, Firemonger may display a message at launch time, claiming Firefox is already running. (This will probably happen to you if Firefox is already installed.) Clicking 'Yes' should allow you to proceed using the program. No other issues should be present.

Unfortunatly, there was a mistake made with the original 1.5.0.6 ISO, which meant that some files were missed out; this preventing Firemonger from loading. A replacement (working) ISO file has now been uploaded. Anyone who downloaded the 1.5.0.6 ISO before 16:00 GMT on 18th August will be affected. This issue does not affect the zip file version. Sorry for any inconvenience.

This version contains Firefox 1.5.0.6 and Thunderbird 1.5.0.5. The observant amoungst you may notice that there was no Firemonger 1.5.0.5 - this was because Mozilla released Firefox 1.5.0.6 within 48 hours of 1.5.0.5, to address a problem with playing Windows Media Player content. Firemonger 1.5.0.6 contains numerous text enhancements and we have now replaced BackupFox with MozBackup, an actively developed utility that has many great features.

To keep inline with Mozilla Firemonger 1.5.0.4 has been released including Firefox 1.5.0.5 and Thunderbird 1.5.0.4. All themes and extensions have been updated and Firemonger now sports a hi-res icon (up to 48x48).

Firemonger 1.5.0.2 has been released. This version contains Firefox 1.5.0.2 and Thunderbird 1.5.0.2 and fixes the notorious Firemonger 1.5.0.1 launch bug. This means that 1.5.0.2 is ready for some serious spreading! After the problems with 1.5.0.1, the project is now much more active, with many translations due to be released with Firemonger 1.5.0.2b.

It has come to our attention that Firemonger 1.5.0.1 seems to be having many problems. Users have reported ISOs that fail to load, invalid checksums and problems with firemonger.exe. The files will still be available on sourceforge, for those who would like to investigate the problems with this release. While we are working to try and identify these problems, please be patient, as they appear to be rather obscure. Thank you for your continued support.

Firemonger 1.5.0.1 has been released. This version contains Firefox 1.5.0.1 and Thunderbird 1.5. For your convenience, there is a choice between .zip and .iso versions, along with a MD5 file for those who wish to check the file integrity.

Thanks to the great work done by our Dutch translation team the 1.5b BETA is now ready. This version runs off a Dutch version of Firefox 1.5 and includes:

1. Firefox 1.5 Dutch
2. Thunderbird 1.0.7 Dutch
3. Shockwave Dutch
4. Flash Dutch
5. All of the English installations
6. Localised utils, extensions (those that exist) etc.

This is a ZIP release only (as it is beta) - please do not distribute this as a final release, but download, run and test. Any problems should be submitted to the bug tracker...... read more

After discovering a critical bug in the latest 1.5 release we are re-releasing (i.e. replacing the existing files) with patched versions of Firemonger. The new version can now be downloaded via sf using the original links.

This patch eliminates the bug that stopped Firemonger from loading under certain conditions.

Thanks to those who helped track down this bug!

Finally, after days of work, Firemonger 1.5 is ready for release. 1.5 includes Firefox 1.5, Thunderbird 1.0.7, selected Themes & Extensions, Plugins and Utilties for both.

Currently Firemogner will be released without a mini-version and as either a ZIP or an ISO. For more information check out www.firemonger.org.
