There is no direct relationship between Firebird 2.0 the sql server and
version 2.0 of the ODBC driver. So, yes, you can use v2 of the driver 
against any version of Firebird.

The latter. Firebird itself has always supported two phase commits. But, 
iac, support is not available for 2pc between a Firebird server and an 
Oracle server. There was a gateway, once, but that was a long time ago.
