I do not have performance numbers for Firebird 2.0, but Firebird 1.5 has approx. 25-40% better performance when connecting to local server via local protocol compared to the local TCP connection with AS3AP suite (embedded gives with JayBird approx 2x better performance compared to local TCP connection). So I think it would be wrong to drop the true local protocol. Roman |
