I use v1.0.2 yet. I use Delphi + IBObjects. This report was not mine, also. It was from Nagy Viktor, and he made the tests, and they show FB making several trips to a simple request (executing the statement). What i can say is that i replaced MSSQL with Firebird (Interbase) some years ago, and i am VERY happy, but with no doubt the remote access of FB is much slower. In my opinion, it´s one of the weakness of FB. I had noticed this since when i start to use it. Well, it makes some time i want to help in something, so i will try to do the following: - Collect more information about this, using tcpdump, accessing a remote server direct via isql (does it uses the API direct?), and then show the results here. Do you think this is the right path? - I will try with 1.0.2 and 1.5, too. If someone have some advice, i will be happy to hear.
