By my experiences application for Windows is better if it compiled by MSVC. I preferences programs for Windows compiled under MSVC because I have so less problems with the one. I don't use programs compiled by CygWin because everytime is more problematic by my experiences. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Lester Caine (lsces) Date: 2002-02-15 23:17 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=175009 I think I have already decided that I will not bother trying my own builds of Firebird on Windows because of MSVC. When I have some spare time I'll do that in Linux, but lossing MSVC would remove another reason why I don't. Currently my development system is Builder or Kylix, and I do not intend to buy any more Microsoft then the MSDN OS level. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2002-02-15 14:47 Message: Logged In: NO Please don't replace MSVC. I like Linux and GCC. But for Windows is MSVC with minimal troubles. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=109028&aid=451954&group_id=9028 |
