Here I have to object.  Those ambiguous queries can cause incorrect
results.  Yes the case of views of unions got by us.  However, the
code I fixed was a hack put in fairly recently that changed the way
a long-standing structure was used in one special case (views of
unions).  The code is back to working the same way in all cases.
And yes, the fix I did had a stupid bug it in.

Regardless of the week of thrashing around, I still think that
identifying ambiguity is a good thing.
