Some of the questions being asked on Stack Overflow are already really bad quality, and just telling people that SO is the support option for Firebird will only make it worse. Email field in the FF association page is too short --------------------------------------------------- Key: WEB-153 URL: http://tracker.firebirdsql.org/browse/WEB-153 Project: Web site Issue Type: Improvement Reporter: Carlos H. Cantu Assignee: Alexey Kovyazin Priority: Blocker I sent a huge mailing to FireBase subscribers asking them to join FF, and I got a complaint that the email field in the association form (https://www.firebirdsql.org/en/membership-application-form/) is too short (only 30 chars). Please increase the size of the field asap! Also, got another complaint about the fact that the registration form uses "mailto", so, it doesn't work for people that have no default email client installed on the computer. This looks like "jurassic" subscription process. If the registration form really needs to be e-mailed, at last the page could use PHP functions to mail it without depending on user email client. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://tracker.firebirdsql.org/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira |

Wrong information in GFIX manual -------------------------------- Key: WEB-152 URL: http://tracker.firebirdsql.org/browse/WEB-152 Project: Web site Issue Type: Bug Reporter: Dimitry Sibiryakov Assignee: Alexey Kovyazin http://www.firebirdsql.org/manual/gfix-housekeeping.html has at least two mistakes: 1) "This doesn't mean that every 20,000 transaction a sweep will take place. It will take place when the difference between the OIT and the next transaction is greater than the sweep interval." tells wrong counter. Autosweep is started basing on difference between OIT and OAT, not next ransaction. 2) "Alternatively, simply make sure that you take regular backups of the database and as this is something you should be doing anyway, it shouldn't be a problem." Backup does not work as sweep, it can do garbage collection, but does not push transaction counters. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://tracker.firebirdsql.org/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira |

Technically it wasn't a tab, that was just the 'UI' that was used on those three pages. We currently, as far as I can tell, no longer have a page to point to for people who want to contribute in some way; there are only the 'sponsor' and 'donate' pages, which isn't all types of contribution mentioned on the old page. I have been pointing to it from the Jaybird release notes for the past few years, and now it gets you nowhere near its intended goal. Can it be reinstated in some way, and otherwise be made to redirect to http://www.firebirdsql.org/en/community/ as that seems to be a better page than the main page for this goal. Mark |
