Hi thanks you for your response. Firebird server is running on the same host where database is. Hi there again, i’ve tried every config combination of the driver, it didn’t work. I have taken a look at the driver we use now… and see there, it is this driver in version 1.03.00.89. Just by updating to the next available version 1.03.00.96 it gives back the error. Regards Antonio Von: Pablo Sánchez [mailto:pa...@ad...] Gesendet: Donnerstag, 13. Betreff: Re: [Firebird-odbc-devel] SQL-Error using ODBC-Driver 2.0.4 and Crystal Reports 2016 I guess you can check the odbc config for quoted identifier or autoquoted identifier. I know SQL but what Crystal produces is strange to me. I always thought it is the odbc kind of syntax That is used and that the odbc driver translates it. Using Easysoft driver works. Hi I only sue ODBC to connect Crystal reports and I don't use access but it occurs to me the issue is likely to be that the process takes longer in FB 3 and the access (periodically) silently times out. So you call your SQL / Stored procedure it takes longer than x seconds so access just gives up and steps to the next line of code, however the SQL is still running in FB and later completes. I would look for timeout settings and check your SQLs execute within them. Hello, after we updated the fb odbc driver to 2.04 we have some problems. The frontend is ms access, the tables are linked to firebird and one adodb-connection (every time closed) calls stored procedures. Now, after we call a sp access gets not in every time the new records (the sp inserts for example one), only after the formular is closes (or the entire access), the records will be shown. The old driver 2.00.150 (rc2) works better and faster but since fb 3 I get an error during linking to the tables. Are the tables already linked it works fine. One problem more: We insert in Access a new record in the main-table, after this we go in the ufo (position-table) and everythin is fine, in the second table the reference (year and number) to the main-entry will set. But if we call an stored procedure which inserts this record (special function) and after this we klick to a new record, the given ID (number) is wrong (ID from the insert of the stored procedure). After we klick a second time in the formular, the right number will be shown and the error is not present. The ID will generated with a generator (trigger) in firebird. Thanks for helping. Best regards. Olaf |

Hello, We are using MS Access with the firebird odbc Driver 2.0 RC2. After we had installed the newest one, the adodb-connection which starts a stored procedure in the firebird database does not wait until the results are back to access, the user have to close the formular and reload, only after this the records will be shown. With the old one we have no problem, but the newest one have the Boolean datatype and we would like up to date. What can we do? Best regards. Olaf |

Hi, Are you planning to create a new version of the odbc driver that supports the new data types in Firebird 3.0. I'm not aware of all the new Firebird 3 features but I do know about the new boolean and autonumber data types. Are you going to support them? Thanks Heine |

Hello I have a conundrum which I cannot solve and for which I cannot find a solution in the archives. I have a table with a primary key and one other integer field named, say, ABC. This field is defined as not null but has a default source value of, say, 0. I am using an application which uses the ODBC driver above. I have the option to set this field, within the application, to be a null field. If I do so and try and insert a record I get an error message -625 Validation error for column ABC, value "***null***" . I think that the ODBC driver is looking at the DB table, determining that the field is defined as not null, and therefore produces this error message. If I set the option to not being a null field, the message I get is -303 Dynamic SQL Error SQL error code = -303 conversion error from string "". Again I believe that the DB is receiving a message to insert the record but has determined that the value is blank rather than NULL. In this particular instance I would like the record to be inserted using the default source value, but the error message prevents the update. I have found a work around in that if I was to purchase Easysoft's ODBC driver for Firebird the problem simply disappears, but I do believe that the official Firebird ODBC driver should cope with this scenario. Please can anybody suggest a solution or advise me what I might be doing incorrectly to solve this? Hi, What does the "read (default write) " mean under transactions? Does this change the default to a read transaction? What do the scheme options mean and what is a schema? They are: null field schema, remove schema from query and full schema. Thanks Heine |

Hi, I see in the odbc driver there are schema options. Set null field schema, remove schema from query and set full schema. What are these options for? What is a schema and how do you use it? I am using Access 2010 on windows 7 prof. What do you reccomend? Thanks Heine |
