Hello: > where the version and PublicKeyToken is same as in C:\WINDOWS\assembly .. It works for me :( i'm afraid seems that this works only for me ;), i have updated in the CVS the web.config file with the configuration i use. <compilation> <assemblies> <add assembly="FirebirdSql.Data.Firebird, Version=1.5.1517.178, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=e1b4f92304d7b12f" /> </assemblies> </compilation> Using WebMatrix (that is using .NET 1.0 in my case, i have both frameworks installed 1.0 and 1.1), having the .NET 1.0 Firebird .NET provider assembly installed only in the GAC ( i mean i don't have it in a bin directory in the examples dir ), and it works for me. -- Best regards Carlos Guzmán Álvarez Vigo-Spain |

Hi, Thks for Carlos for asking me trying installing on FirebirdNETProvider1.5.1-NET1.1 , I din have problem on msvcr70.dll problem anymore... it looks great... But the only problem I have is I can't declared the variable type 'FbDbType'...while trying the vbnetexample.aspx .. It show Compiler Error Message: BC30451: Name 'FbDbType' is not declared.if I modify the web.conf such as <compilation> <assemblies> <add assembly="FirebirdSql.Data.Firebird" /> </assemblies> </compilation> It show Compiler Error Message: BC30560: 'FbConnection' is ambiguous in the namespace 'FirebirdSql.Data.Firebird'. if I modify the web.conf as <compilation> <assemblies> <add assembly="FirebirdSql.Data.Firebird, Version=1.5.1517.216, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=e1b4f92304d7b12f" /> </assemblies> </compilation> where the version and PublicKeyToken is same as in C:\WINDOWS\assembly .. Thks In advance regards, weng |

Hi all ;) I've recently discovered firebird and the .net provider (wow! :) and am r= unning a couple of tests to familiarise myself with it, in the form of th= e database version of 'hello world!' - customers/orders/orderdetails/prod= ucts. I'm using the embedded version of firebird 1.5 and .net provider 1.6.1524= .24952 (according to the SDK help file) and a demo version of EMS IBManag= er to define the database. The relevant DDL statements to give context to my question are tagged-on = at the end. I've got a 'new customer' form in a c# windows forms app. The form has a = command which passes its parameters to a stored procedure. The parameter = matches the stored procedure in size/type - ie VARCHAR (255). Ok. at last, to the question.. :) I've noticed that I'm able to assign a string of length 765 or less to th= e parameter which then somehow makes it through the stored procedure's 25= 5 character limit and into the database table. How is this possible? Sure= ly the table (not to mention the SP) should only allow 255 unicode charac= ters to be stored, despite the fact that it may have a limit of 765 bytes= ? Any pointers would be appreciated. -- CREATE TABLE CUSTOMERS ( CUSTOMER_ID INTEGER NOT NULL, NAME VARCHAR (255) CHARACTER SET UNICODE_FSS NOT NULL COLLATE UNICOD= E_FSS); CREATE PROCEDURE NEWCUSTOMER ( CUST_NAME VARCHAR (255)) RETURNS ( NEW_ID INTEGER, SUCCESS INTEGER) AS BEGIN /* Procedure body */ SUCCESS =3D 1; NEW_ID =3D GEN_ID(CUSTOMERS_CUSTOMER_ID_GEN, 1); INSERT INTO CUSTOMERS (CUSTOMER_ID, NAME) VALUES (:NEW_ID, :CUST_NAME); WHEN ANY DO SUCCESS =3D 0; END |

Hi, When I install the FirebirdNETProvider1.5-NET1.1 I have following problem:- The application has failed to start because MSVCR70.dll was not found. RE-installing the application may fix this problem. cannot register assembly FirebirdSql.Data.Firebird. I tried the solution of copying msvcr70.dll in C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\URTTemp to C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.3705 after that I tried re-install but still fail ... my msvcr70.dll is about 336kb on Xp platform. Anyone knows why? Or how to solve it ? Thks regards, Weng |

Well, just thought instead of fixing people to using pk, or = pk+timestamp, or all, you could allow them to choose which fields to = check - for whatever reason they choose. Maybe someone would want to use a integer 'generation' value instead of = a timestamp to control concurrency, for example. So the trigger would = have something like Before update trigger: genfield =3D gen_id(gennumber,1); And they you'd do: Update mytable set xxxx where pk =3D @mypk and genfield =3D @genfield John -----Original Message----- From: Carlos Guzm=E1n =C1lvarez [mailto:car...@te...]=20 Sent: 12 March 2004 13:42 To: JS.staff Cc: firebird-net-provider Subject: Re: [Firebird-net-provider] FbCommandBuilder - where's clause = rule[Scanned] Hello: > That sounds great - how about a collection of field names in the=20 > FbCommandBuilder specifying the fields to check??
