Hi Michael Transform your input data into fixed width format then open it in Firebird as an external file and do a select from it into your Firebird table. Search the Interbase 6.0 docs for "external file" but specifically see the Interbase Data Definition Guide, page 107. Cheers, Mike. Hi all, This is somewhat off topic, but has anyone found a way to bulk load 55,000 rows into Firebird quickly? I'm currently doing it via a dataadapter.update with a custom InsertCommand, but it's taking almost 20 minutes. So, in short... what's the easiest way to load 55,000 rows into Firebird. Each row is only about <300 bytes. My table has 8 columns w/ 1 auto number column, and no indexes. Thanks! -- Michael She : mic...@bi... Hello, Does anyone know if (and how) it is possible to list all database names on a server with the FBServerProperties.DatabasesInfo property? Like srv.Connect(this.cboServers.SelectedItem.ToString(),this.txtUser.Text,this.t xtPassword.Text); foreach(SQLDMO.Database db in srv.Databases) { if(db.Name!=null) this.cboDatabase.Items.Add(db.Name); with SQLDMO Bert |

Using v. 1.5.1541.23864. Backup works fine if I use this path: c:\121212\myDB.gdb But if I use this path: C:\C:\12 12 12 - 12\myDB.gdb I get this error: No message for code 401 found.\nNo message for code = 384 found.\nNo message for code 386 found.\n" An if I use this path: "C:\C:\12 12 12 - 12\myDB.gdb" (incl. the " sign) I get this error:"No message for code 24 found.\nNo message for code 414 = found.\n" Has anyone tested this? Good day. Iam totally with this .net stuff. While Iam not new to firebird, I am trying to learn C# to develop a web application. I want to develop a web database aplication using Firebird. Is the Firebird .Net provider a component which is to be install in Visual C# so that I can connect to the database and work just like Delphi is to Visual C# and IB Object is to Firebird .Net Provider? If Iam mistaken can anybody give a notes on this thing? Thanks a lot. regards, james |

Hello, I just started to use the Embedded Firebird Server with a VB.NET project. Is it possible to connect to an embedded server without specifying the startup database name? My current connect string is: Database=EMPLOYEE.FDB;User=SYSDBA;Password=masterkey;Dialect=3;ServerType=1; Without Database=EMPLOYEE.FDB I get an error saying that it is an invalid connection string. I would like to connect to the embedded database and create a new DB without specifying the name before hand. Thanks. -- Michael She : mic...@bi... In my practic provider works like SqlClient provider and 90% all questions - it's standard ADO.NET.
