I upgraded my .Net DataProvider from 2.5.2 to 2.6.5.
A simple select query that ran with no problems using the 2.5.2 version, will now throw an exception when using the 2.6.5 version.

When I execute a query with a (string)parameter value that is longer than the size of the column in the database an IscException occurs.

the error code is: 335544321 and the message is 'Arithmetic overflow or division by zero has occurred. arithmetic exception, numeric overflow, or string truncation. string right truncation.'

If it is possible I would like the behaviour of the 2.5.2 version back, because it makes my code a lot simpler. Otherwise I have to make sure a user can not enter data that will result in an exception.

Using SMALLINT in table to store 'bool' value from C# works perfect with stand alone and embedded server.
(May be I have a char set problem (none, ASCII, UTF8,...) in DB or connection when using CHAR(1) to store a 'bool'!)

We are using SMALLINT type in our project.
FB EF provider also generates tables with SMALLINT fields for
code-first class fields.

We use an embedded firebird database through FirebirdSql.Data.FirebirdClient 4.6.2.0 (NuGet package).

We are encountering random AccessViolationException issue (somehow 1 times over 10) inside FbConnection.Open(), on the first query, when our application starts.

Yes, I was planning to reply on facebook as well.  
I was a bit surprised, but this could be the reason why
1.  It is random2.  It is on some networks often, on others rarely or never3.  It is for no reason.
In all honesty, I always try to keep a socket live with actual CHANGING bytes every 30 seconds.  We are running tests now, we limit events on 14 per fbRemoteEvent and we add one NewGuid.ToString() that we fire every minute with a fbBlock if we haven't seen any of those events in the past minute.  The results look promising.

RFC 1122, section 4.2.3.6 indicates that acknowledgements for TCP keepalives without data may not be transmitted reliably by routers; this may cause valid connections to be dropped. Furthermore, TCP/IP stacks are not required to support keepalives at all (and many embedded stacks do not), so this solution may not translate to other platforms.

This might explain why still some events (connections) are (sometimes) lost, even though we use keep-alive on that socket.
