I have experienced this issue with MSN in Fire 1.5 and AOL in
previous versions. I assume the same would happen in 1.5, but I
haven't tested it out.
When you delete a buddy from Fire, this is not reflected in the
online list maintained by the services. I discovered that I had
reached the maximum number of buddies in MSN, so I began to
delete some buddies I had not spoke to in a very long time. I was
signed off at the time, and I'm not sure if this makes a difference
or not.
After deleting the buddies, I discovered that they were still listed
when I signed on with MSN Messenger. To get the changes to take
effect, I had to also delete the buddies in MSN Messenger. I have
had to do exactly the same thing before in AIM as well.
Fire should automatically update the buddy lists saved online by
these services. If changes are made when offline, these should be
updated when the user signs on.

We already edit the list when online (except for ICQ) in Fire 1.5. Support
for editing the ICQ server list and storing changes when offline for later
use when you connect are both planned for 2.0.
