It would be nice if Fire wrote a "System" message in
the chat windows and chat logs. For example, if a buddy
you were talking to changed from "available" to "Away",
Fire would print: "BUDDY has gone away"; when the buddy
returned, something like "BUDDY has come back" or
"BUDDY is no longer away" or "BUDDY is now available"
would appear. This would allow conversations with
timestamps spanning several hours to make more sense;
rather than closing the chat window after the buddy
leaves the computer and opening a new one when they
return, you could keep it open and if there's a
30-minute gap, you could see that the other person was
away during that period.
This feature is currently implemented in GAIM...does
this make the task easier?
Another option would be to not only print the change in
status, but to also print the new away message the
buddy provides. This though would need to be a
preference that could be enabled/disabled.

Too late for new prefs in 1.0 since we're loc frozen. We can consider this
for a future release.

As of 1.5, this seems to be almost completely implemented.
One thing I'd still like: a preference to control the
behavior of this. 1) to be able to disable this completely,
and 2) to be able to disable the display of the new away
message (so that only the change in status "type" is printed).
Thanks for implementing!
