After running the new security update from Apple (not sure it is=20 related), I've fink selfupdate'd (cvs update) on 10.3.3 fink 0.7.0/=20 0.19.2 and got this error: cvs update: inflate: oversubscribed dynamic bit lengths tree cvs [update aborted]: reading from server: Input/output error ### execution of /usr/bin/su failed, exit code 1 What can I do to correct it? So, after=20= browsing the archives, I install fink's cvs (I used Apple's cvs=20 previously). Now, I can run fink selfupdate (via) cvs, but only with my=20= sourceforge.net account and password. I wonder if this is normal or even dangerous. Mich=E8le <http://micmacfr.homeunix.org> |

To anwser you question, I don't find any zlib, but I have fink's gzip: [108] Mardi 06/04/2004 09:09:09 CEST +0200 [michga@iMac:~]% gzip --version gzip 1.2.4 (18 Aug 93) Compilation options: DIRENT UTIME STDC_HEADERS HAVE_UNISTD_H It seems a bit old, but well I don't know if there is a more recent=20 version. It has been confirmed on various web-sites, that the latest Security=20 update seems to break CVS in certain setups. It is not quite clear how=20 though -d |

It is not quite clear how > though Although I myself did not have any problem with the security update and cvs (I really tried to break it, but it just works as before), I wanted to see if there is a possible connection between /usr/bin/cvs and any of the libraries updated by the security update. Well, just setenv DYLD_PRINT_LIBRARIES and then run cvs update. You'll be surprised. It pulls in every library you can imagine, including /usr/lib/libssl.0.9.7.dylib and even /usr/lib/libcups.2.dylib! So if any of these libs has problems, maybe after a prebinding gone sour, it could hang cvs, too. -- Martin |
