FileZilla stores passwords for remote sites in the clear. This is a major security issue for web admins. Despite several bugs reports in eight years, no solution was provided.
This very simple patch for FileZilla on Windows systems uses the built-in operating system features to secure the passwords.
The passwords are protected using keys which are derived from the user's Windows Credentials, hence the name "wincred".
