FileOrganizer helps to create single list of files in different directories and copy files without duplication from one location to another such as a PC hard disk to USB disk.

Duplication can be of different types like

  1. Files with exactly same name and data.
  2. Files with different names, but same data
  3. Files with different names and different binary data, but serves same purpose. For example video files abcd.avi and abcd_2001.mpg

FileOrganizer handles all the cases mentioned above.

Also file list from a computer can be exported as an xml file and can be used on another computer to find out which all files are present in first computer's file list. This is helpful if you are copying files from your friends PC to your USB harddisk.

Most of the file browsers treat directory and files as separate entities, so comparing content in two different locations is difficult. These lists files in one directory as a list which makes it difficult to compare if files are scattered across different directories. Also it will be difficult if filenames vary slightly or if some tag is added any of the files. For example, while copying video files, one may be in directory "ABCD" and second may be as "ABCD_2000.avi" . This make it difficult to realise "ABCD" is present in both locations.

FileOrganizer is the software you need if you face these problems. It generates a generalized name from original file name, sort files and directories together, and provide interface for adding files in different directories to same list, comparison with another list, view differences between the two file lists, and selectively copy required files.
