Hello,

I am asking if it is possible to add some additional features to the text property dialog window:
- a selection for italic font style (not only bold)
- a possibility to use indices (like I_1).
Could you also allow colors (not only black) for the library elements in the dialog box once they are placed in a schematic ?

The reason is that I use the program just for schematic drawing in teaching power electronics.

The rest of the program is fine so far. One can modify the library easily to add new devices (for example GTO thyristor or IGBT).

Very good work!

Some of your requests deserve a little bit of discussion:

    • italic font style: ok, this should be feasible
    • indices: this might be more difficult. How to do that? Should be implemented something similar to LaTeX? I mean I_{something}, by using the underscore char and the curly braces? Alternatively, how should be handled by the user interface?
    • symbols in library schematics: currently, a symbol in a library can contain some information about the layer in which it should be drawn. A possibility might be that in some cases the symbol does not contain a layer assignment and it is thus drawn in the current layer which might not be 0 (circuit).

    Regards,

    D.

I would like to see the possibility to chose the color of components before or after they are placed on the circuit

This feature is useful when you have to distinguish a part of the circuit and also if you plan to draw some personal components to be used for layout (capacitors are red - electolytic orange - small resistor green ...... and so on)

You can draw your layout components as rectangles (inside which you specific values) this is devoted to a particular kind of layout used for Turret Boards for Guitar Tube Amps
