#87 Width - Height - Bitrate column values incorrect

I recently installed FFmpeg Batch 2.8.7 on a fresh install of Windows 10 following a full factory reset of the same computer. Ever since then, I have been experiencing issues with the Width / Height / Bitrate columns in the tool. It almost seems as if the tool is pulling basic file information into those columns rather than the "actual" information. I attempted to roll back to earlier versions, portable versions, etc. to resolve the issue but it has occurred in every version I have tried, so there must be something else going on. Any ideas?

Hi, you're right, it'a bug refreshing total bitrate column, which uses operating system information api.
This beta executable should fix it.
Just download and replace your current one.

    Hey Abel,

Unfortunately, there wasn't any change in behavior from the initial screenshot. If it helps, this is running on:

    Edition: Windows 10 Pro
    Version: 22H2
    OS build: 19045.3086
Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19041.1000.0

Try now removing all custom columns and add them back.

So this sort of worked but only if the files in question are already in the batch processing queue and the columns are added. If further files are dropped into the queue after adding the columns, they are not processed correctly. See attached.

I can't reproduce the issue, i'm using Windows 11 22H2, and I can add files after columns were added, or after restarting application, and it all displays properly.

Weird. I even tried a full reboot and experienced the same behavior. Thank you for trying to reproduce it on your side.

I assume you reset application defaults. Does it happen with any type of files?

I hadn't tried resetting to defaults, just did though, trusted the new MD5 of the beta executable and added the windows security exception. No change. I tried a mix of different files and while the contents of the video codec and bitrate columns seems to vary the issue remains.

Same behaviour for me with release version of 2.8.8. Also on Windows 11 22H2. Happens right after installation.

Hi, this patched exe version could fix it.

I just tried the patched version and unfortunately, it is still showing the same behavior.

I'm afraid I can't reproduce the issue, if you could send an screencast with the steps that lead to that behaviour I may find the cause.

See attached. This is on a fresh installation.
    * Launch, add files, add columns, displayed correctly.
    * Close, relaunch, add files, columns are displaying incorrectly.
    * Reset to factory defaults, close, relaunch, prompt to trust the ffmpeg version (not sure why, it's the shipping version?), add files, add columns, displayed correctly.
    * Close, relaunch, add files, columns are displaying incorrectly.

    This is on:
    Edition: Windows 10 Pro
    Version: 22H2
    OS build: 19045.3271
Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19041.1000.0

    Hopefully this helps!

Thanks for the video, I've tried again but I find no issue reproducing the steps with similiar video files win Windows 10 latest release.

That file information is actually displayed using mediainfo.exe. I include the latest version in the next release, just in case, available here.

Does it happen with any audio/video file, or only with some videos?

Sure thing. It happens with any video or audio file, regardless of format.

I tried the newer version of mediainfo.exe you provided, no change in behavior. I took a test file and manually generated different types of outputs using the mediainfo command line. Are you using the HTML output to display data in the UI? I ask because the HTML formatted output has certain case sensitivities that are mirrored by the UI, specifically Format profile and Complete name. See attached.

The reason I ask about the HTML output is it seems like for some reason the field identification is getting changed between when the columns are added in Step 1. Instead of pulling the field data from the "Video" table row it starts pulling it from the "General" table row.

    Thoughts?

I think I'm getting to the issue. Refreshing list calls a different mediainfo command. It uses plain text but creates a temp file named FFBatch_test\columns.txt with the required fields. Maybe just a config path issue, looks like the file is being ignored so that's the reason general fields show up.

Please try this new patched version and let me know the results.

That patched version works! Behavior is now as expected.
Edit: thank you for this! Tool is fantastic.
