Hi milan, I have a request...
Could you please add GradFun (a new fast DeBanding
filter) to ffdshow? You can find info about the filter
here -> http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=108681
and the source can be found here ->
http://manao4.free.fr/gradfun2db-v1.0.zip Its really
great to remove banding while playback, so having it in
ffdshow would rock! :)

I wonder if milan is still alive... :\

note: the current version of grandfun doesnt process the
outer 16pix each side, so padding the frame (add 16pix
borders at each side) before feeding it to gradfun, and
cropping it afterwards is needed!

I just imported gradfun into ffdshow. For now without
padding the frame so borders aren't processed. I'll add
this later after deciding whether I should implement adding
of borders in a more generic way (so more filters could use
it) or somehow hack it for this filter only.
I created new configuration page for DeBand filter so there
is a lot of space for other features and controls to
configure them :)

Oh, thats great, thanks! Btw, it was discovered that there
is slower but better way to do the padding by mirroring the
frame some pixels at each side...

Milan, would you consider adding an RGB conversion to the
filter as well? You can get much finer dithering that way,
although it probably changes the algorithm. The main UI
consideration you'd need is a TV or PC levels translation,
since the wrong mode usually looks bad.

Foxyshadis, Im not sure if its worth it! There should be a
minimal quality gain (less chroma banding) but it would be
much slower (as you have to process 3 8bit planes) :\
