when i do resize/lanczos, multpile steps, i get a very
strange phenomenon: north-west quadrant of the screen
is rendered much better than the rest of the screen.
it's best seen on a black screen (attached).
I can't see the difference. I'll try againg when it's dark.
Please try "Accurate rounding" in "Setting" sub-page.
If you can't find "Accurate rounding", you have to update
your ffdshow.
if you can't see the difference, it just means your screen
isn't calibrated. try opening the attachment in an editor
(picassa will do just fine) and do auto-adjust/'i'm feeling
lucky'.
in fact, i'm using the latest builds by videomixer9.
yesterday i tried another build -
ffdshow_rev345_20061006_clsid.zip - and it seems better.
however with videomixer9 builds the problem persists.

yes, i did try "Accurate rounding". in fact it was on. tried
turning it off to no effect.
the is no need to upload any samples - the problem manifests
itself on any movie. just select a darker bit and turn
'color' setting of your monitor all the way up.

I don't get you. What do you want me to do exaclty? I've
provided video sample. Play it via ffdshow with resize
enabled and see for yourself. In NERO it plays okay.

I've played your sample and find no problem. The upper
left part have slightly better quality, but I think it's
the original picture. Resized or not resized. I used
ffdshow decoder and MPC's internal one.

I need a sample.

I think it's a nature of mpeg-video. Many video files
encoded in mpeg have better quality for the north-west
quadrant.
sample movie. as i said, anything will do.

watch closely at the upper-left 1/16 screen when "AVENGER"
appears. with videomixe9 builds it's 1/4 screen, with 10/06
build it's 1/16 screen.

It's the original picture.
Capture the scene without using ffdshow and use photo
editor.
